Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the Shock-Absorbing Blade is compatible with any figure skate sharpening machine using a standard blade holder/jig.

Yes! The Shock-Absorbin Blade is designed to fit all figure skating boots. The frame is universal, accommodating boot sizes:

  • 225 to 300 (Edea size)
  • 1.5 to 9.5 (Jackson size)

Select the blade-runner size based on your current boot size and the manufacturer’s recommendation.

We recommend selecting shock-absorber stiffness based on your weight:

  • Soft: 30 to 45 kg (66 to 99 lbs)
  • Medium: 45 to 65 kg (99 to 143 lbs)
  • Stiff: 65 to 85 kg (143 to 187 lbs)

Yes! The Shock-Absorbing Blade is the world’s first and only blade proven to reduce landing impacts by 10-15%. This is not just a marketing claim—its functionality has been rigorously tested and scientifically verified. Our research, spanning over five years, has been published in the respected journal Sports Biomechanics.

The shock-absorbers reduce vibrations, helping you maintain speed and glide more efficiently than with regular figure skating blades. You will achieve the same jump heights as with traditional blades, but thanks to the lower impact on your body, you’ll recover faster and be able to push harder again sooner.

Our modular design allows key components to be reused:

  • Frame (mounted to the boot)
  • Pins (securing the blade-runner)
  • Shock-absorbers (absorbing landing impacts)

If you change boot sizes, you only need to replace the blade-runner while keeping the frame, pins, and shock-absorbers.

  • Compatible with boot sizes 1.5 to 9.5 (English size), Edea 225 to 300, Jackson 1.5 to 9.5 (men) or size 3+ (ladies).
  • Blade-runner sizes range from 8.5 to 11.

This saves you money and contributes to environmental sustainability, reducing waste.

Durability depends on training frequency, skill level, and jump intensity—similar to how running shoes wear out over time.
We recommend replacing shock-absorbers:

  • Elite/Advanced skaters: Once a year
  • Intermediate skaters: Every 1.5 years
  • Beginner skaters: Every 2 years

Yes! The Shock-Absorbing Blade is designed for injury prevention and is suitable for all skaters—from beginners to those performing single, double, triple, and quadruple jumps.

Yes! The Shock-Absorbing Blade meets all technical regulations for figure skating equipment and is competition-approved. Our focus is injury prevention, not performance enhancement. This is backed by scientific research.
